Mazda updates CX-5
New look, improved tech for popular SUV.
Mazda has treated one of its most popular models to a mid-life update.
The 2015 Mazda CX-5 has received a new look courtesy of a revised front end, along with a spruced-up cabin and raft of new technology.
The car has new adaptive LED headlights, new-look alloy wheels, rear LED lamps and a metallic grey grille to separate it from the current model which went on sale in 2012.
The car features Mazda's heads-up cockpit and human-machine interface cabin, which is anchored by a large central display screen featuring the brand's latest MZD connect infotainment screen.
The interior also benefits from increased sound dampening to reduce in-car noise, vibrations and harshness.
An electronic parking brake replaces a conventional unit, adding a further touch of luxury.
Driver support systems include a new lane-keep assist program, and a driver attention alert feature to detect fatigue. Autonomous emergency braking and active cruise control remain available as options.
The car retains its current range of 2.0-litre and 2.5-litre petrol engines as well as an optional 2.2-litre diesel motor and the choice of front-wheel-drive or all-wheel drive.
The car will go on sale locally alongside the compact new Mazda CX-3 in 2015.
