Reports of a road-going version of the Evora GTE race car have culminated this week in the online unveiling of the new Evora GTE Road Race Concept.
Set for a Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance debut this week, the Evora GTE concept offers a preview of what lies ahead for the next top-shelf variant in the Evora range.
Technical details have still to be revealed, although Lotus has confirmed a 313kW output - 55kW greater than the current range-topping Evora S, and a huge 107kW more than the regular Evora.
Lotus also describes a "race-developed engine", suggesting the Evora GTE Concept may be packing a detuned version of the GTE race car's 4.0 litre V6 engine.
The engine is mated to a sequential AMT racing transmission, and centre-locking ultra-lightweight forged alloy wheels prop up each corner.
Lotus has yet to indicate if it will put the Evora GTE Concept into production, although a low-volume high-powered special-edition future looks likely.
