LDV is set to shake up large SUV market with new cut-price offering.
The Chinese brand launches its new D90 seven-seat SUV with a sharp price of $36,990 driveaway when it goes on November 30, 2017. The bargain entry-level price undercuts nearly all full-sized seven-seat SUVs like the Mazda CX-9 and Hyundai Santa Fe which both start from $43,890 and $40,990 before on-road costs respectively.
LDV is offering three model grades; Mode, Deluxe and Luxe with a range of two- and four-wheel drive variants.
All models are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 165kW and 350Nm and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Fuel use is rated as 10.2L/100km for two-wheel drive variants and 10.9L/100km for four-wheel drive models.
The entry-level D90 Mode is only available with two-wheel drive, while the mid-range Deluxe has a choice of either two- or four-wheel drive and the range-topping Luxe is fitted with all-wheel drive only.
D90 Mode models come standard with heated, cooled and massage driver's seat, adaptive cruise control, 12-inch touchscreen and an 8.0-inch instrument display.
Mid-spec Deluxe models gain a sunroof, dual-zone air-conditioning, ambient lighting, luggage rack, leather steering wheel, auto tailgate and leather upholstery for the first and second rows.
While the Luxe grade scores 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, anti-dazzle mirror, heated first and second row seats, 12-speaker stereo, puddle lights under each door.
The D90 joins the brand's more commercial focused G10 van and T60 dual-cab ute in an expanding local line-up.
