Jaguar is looking to replace its XJ limo with an updated model, and the carmaker believes a greater range of model lines is better than endless body shapes from the same car.
That’s the word out of Europe, with design chief Ian Callum reportedly saying that both projects are currently on Jaguar’s radar.
Speaking with Autocar, Callum said future growth would come from a range of different models rather than new variants of existing models.
Callum added however, that Jaguar would not be “chasing volume” and was not interesting in going blow-for-blow with Audi or BMW.
“We’re looking at [the XJ] now, and other things too,” Mr Callum said.
“Other car lines, additional ones, [we’ll] continue to grow.”
