Responding to pressure from dealers for more stock, Ford has announced a new production schedule for its flagship Falcon XR8.
Reviving the XR8 for the last-ever Falcon model, the FG X, has proved a master stroke for Ford, who initially planned to sell around 1200 units.
The XR8 was always destined to be something of a ‘collectors’ model, as the Falcon badge is to be retired once Ford packs up its local manufacturing facilities in 2016.
But now, at least 2800 customers will have the chance to secure the model (assuming they buy one each) as Ford confirms it will build more than twice as many XR8s as first scheduled due to dealer demand.
