First look: 2015 Ford Ranger

Facelift and technology upgrades on the way for blue oval ute.

Ford has give its first look at the 2015 Ranger ute.

The company gave a glimpse of the refreshed workhorse during a video presentation at its Go Further event in Melbourne this week.

The image shows the Ranger has adopted the large three-bar grille of the Everest SUV as well as new-look headlights and re-styled front bumper.

Ford also confirmed that the ute will be available with the latest Sync2 infotainment system that will include Emergency Assist; an automated safety technology that can call 000 in the event of an accident.

That is part of Ford's plans to roll out the Sync technology across its entire line-up in 2015, making Emergency Assist available on all models.

Ford didn't reveal any changes to the three engine options - 2.5-litre petrol, 2.2-litre diesel and 3.2-litre diesel - but it is expected they will carryover with only minor changes.
