Ferrari SF90 supercar recalled in Australia due to fire risk
An oil leak in the Ferrari SF90's 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine could cause the plug-in hybrid supercar to catch fire.
Ferrari Australia has recalled 35 examples of its 2023 Ferrari SF90 supercar, following the discovery of a manufacturing defect which could lead to an engine fire.
The recall affects both the fixed-roof SF90 Stradale and convertible SF90 Spider versions of the plug-in hybrid Ferrari.
The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: "The engine turbocharger oil delivery pipe may not meet manufacturing specifications.
"As a result, engine oil could leak into the engine bay and accumulate in the presence of ignition source resulting in a vehicle fire.
"A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and/or damage to property."
