Citroen's line-up overhaul continues this week, with the updated C4 Picasso now on sale in Australia.
For Australia's 2012 model year, the people-moving seven-seater gets a light makeover, picking up a new front bumper, daytime running light LEDs and Citroen's updated chevron badge and grille design.
Inside, the C4 Picasso remains largely unchanged, retaining the outgoing model's black design with grey pillars and headliner. As before, there is also steering-mounted controls and a large single-colour display in the dash centre.
The Picasso's major change for 2012 lies under the bonnet, with Citroen's upgraded Euro 5-compliant 2.0 litre turbodiesel engine developing 120kW and 340Nm of torque - a boost of 20kW and 20Nm over the 2011 model. The C4 Picasso also picks up Citroen's EGS six-speed automatic transmission.
The boost in power has seen the engine's fuel consumption take a hit however, climbing from 6.0 l/100km to 6.8 l/100km on the combined cycle.
Standard features for the C4 Picasso include a rechargeable torch in the boot, a dashboard drinks cooler, picnic tables for the middle seat row, power points front and rear, under-floor lockers, key operated headlights, automatic headlights and wipers, and middle side window blinds.
Safety features include seven airbags, ABS brakes with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution and electronic stability control. Child safety seat attachments are also standard on the three middle seats.
Pricing
The C4 Picasso is available now, priced at $37,990 (down from $39,990), plus on-road costs.
