2024 Mini Countryman price and specs: Larger new model brings more features, price rises

The new third-generation Mini Countryman is due in Australia early next year with a much larger body and longer list of features – but price rises on some models.

  • 2024 Mini Countryman pricing and specifications
  • Six variants from launch across front- and all-wheel drive
  • John Cooper Works and electric variants due later
  • Priced from $49,990 plus on-road costs

The 2024 Mini Countryman is due in Australian showrooms between January and March next year, arriving with major upgrades for a price increase.

Unveiled in September, the third-generation Countryman is larger than its predecessor, though Mini still positions the model as a small SUV despite being the largest offering in its range.

The price of entry to the Mini Countryman range has risen by $1140, with the Countryman C Core now opening the account at $49,990 plus on-road costs.

The one-model-up Cooper C Classic costs $52,990 plus on-road costs – $4140 more than the previous Cooper Classic, which was the entry-level model. Mini charges $55,990 plus on-road costs for the Countryman C Favoured.

The price rises are relatively modest compared to the $6000 entry price hike the Countryman's BMW X1 twin was hit with for its latest generation introduced in 2022.

In all-wheel-drive form, the Mini Countryman S All4 starts from $58,990 plus on-road costs (Classic), before rising to $61,990 plus on-road costs (Favoured) and $63,990 plus on-road costs (JCW Sport).

While Mini has confirmed the performance Countryman John Cooper Works grade – plus the electric Countryman S and SE – are due later in 2024, it is yet to announce pricing and specifications for these variants.

As previously reported, the Countryman John Cooper Works is due in Australia between July and September 2024.

All versions of the new Mini Countryman are equipped with LED headlights, a 9.4-inch round OLED infotainment touchscreen – housing wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities – and a centre-mounted gear selector.

Powering the Mini Countryman is a choice of two turbocharged petrol engines – a 1.5-litre three-cylinder (producing 115kW/230Nm) which drives the front wheels, or a 2.0-litre four-cylinder (developing 150kW/300Nm) mated to an all-wheel-drive system.

The Mini Countryman is exclusively equipped with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, with the gearbox and engines carried across from its BMW X1 sibling.

Mini’s new Countryman measures 4433mm in length, 1843mm wide and 1656mm tall, riding on a 2692mm wheelbase.

The 2024 Mini Countryman is due in Australian showrooms within the opening three months of next year.
