2024 Mercedes-AMG G63 Grand Edition price and specs

A new $50,000 option pack has been added to the 2024 Mercedes-AMG G63 line-up about six months after a two-year order pause was lifted.

Just 1000 G63s with the Grand Edition package will be built globally, and Mercedes-Benz says only a "strictly limited number of vehicles will be available to the Australian market."

It adds extensive gold highlights inside and out, including gold-coloured Mercedes-Benz badges, 22-inch wheels, body decals, spare wheel cover ring, and stitching on the seats.

Satin black exterior paint is standard, with black nappa leather seat upholstery, and a microfibre-trimmed steering wheel. A full list of what the limited-run option pack adds is at the bottom of this story.

Performance is unchanged from the 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged petrol V8 engine, which develops 430kW and 850Nm for a 4.5-second claimed sprint from zero to 100km/h.

The V8 is matched with a nine-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, with low-range capabilities, and front, centre and rear locking differentials.

A facelifted G63 is expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks, with improved aerodynamics, subtly tweaked looks, the option of an electric version, and an expected move to make the V8 exclusive to the G63 in Europe, switching the cheaper G500 to a six-cylinder engine.
