2024 Land Rover Defender 130 Outbound unveiled

The long-bodied, five-seat Land Rover Defender 130 Outbound comes with more storage space and heavy-duty hardware.

British brand Land Rover has expanded its Defender 130 range with the introduction of a special five-seater 'Outbound' version.

Joining petrol and diesel-powered X-Dynamic SE models and a new top-of-the-range V8, the Defender 130 Outbound is priced from $138,400 before on-road costs.

Available only with the 294kW/550Nm ‘P400’ 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine, the Defender 130 Outbound trades the third row of the 130 for more storage space, and picks up a range of interior and exterior changes.

The 220kW/650Nm 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel engine isn’t available with the Outbound model.

Gloss-black 20-inch alloy wheels and an exterior appearance package give the Land Rover Defender Outbound a blacked-out look. It's also available with bolt-on option packs.

Inside, there are 12-way electric-adjustable front seats, high-sided rubber matting and three-zone climate control. There's also the choice of 'Resist' artificial leather or real 'Windsor' leather trim.

Without a third row, the Defender Outbound has a 668-litre boot (up from 588 litres for other Land Rover Defender 130 models). If you load all the way to the roofline, Land Rover says there is 1329 litres of load space (in comparison to 1232 litres for other 130 variants).

As with other Land Rover Defender 130 models, the braked towing capacity is capped at 3000kg. However, because of the interior configuration, the Defender 130 Outbound has a more generous payload compared to other models: 760kg.
