2022 Skoda Fabia recalled with airbag fault

An airbag fault has triggered a recall of the Skoda Fabia in Australia. 

The 116 affected vehicles are stamped Model Years 2022.

“Due to a manufacturing issue, the front passenger airbag inflator may catch on the dash panel and rupture in the event of airbag deployment,” the recall notice says.

“In the event of airbag deployment in an accident, the airbag can foul on the dashboard and provide insufficient protection for the front seat passenger which could result in serious injury or death.

“Owners of affected vehicles should contact their preferred Skoda dealer to arrange to have their vehicle repaired free of charge.”

Drive has contacted Volkswagen Group Australia to find out if any Skoda Fabia vehicles have been impacted locally. This story will be updated with its response.
