2022 Range Rover breaks cover in leaked images
Jaguar Land Rover's all-new flagship SUV has has leaked, ahead of next week's global reveal.
The all-new 2022 Range Rover has leaked online, one week ahead of its scheduled global reveal.
The fifth-generation luxury SUV – which was snapped and posted to Instagram early by pages including Driven Hard and Jons Garage – will almost certainly be underpinned by Jaguar Land Rover’s modualar 'MLA' architecture, and offered in standard- and long-wheel base guise.
Stying has not deviated dramatically from the existing model, however a squared-off grille has been introduces alongside rounder edges, vertical tail lights, and a sloping roof-line.
Inside the cabin, images published by Spanish outlet Cochespias reveal a circa-11-inch version of the brand's Pivi Pro infotainment screen, a digital instrument cluster, Land Rover’s existing gear selector, wood highlights, and leather trim.
Engine options are yet to be announced, however it’s likely Land Rover’s range of Ingenium six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines will be on offer (potentially with mild-hybrid assistance). V8 and four-cylinder plug-in hybrid options are also expected, however these have not been confirmed.
A standalone electric Range Rover model – referred to as the ‘Road Rover’ – was previously discussed, however it’s unclear if the model is still destined for production. Instead, if leaked images of a French magazine (published by Cochespias overnight), an electric variant of the new full-sized Range Rover could be on track for 2024.
A spokesperson for Jaguar Land Rover in Australia was unable to comment on the upcoming model. This story will be updated if more information becomes available.
The 2022 Range Rover will be officially revealed next Wednesday, 27 October 2021 at 6:40am AEDT (5:40am AEST). Stay tuned to Drive for all the latest updates.
