2021 Nissan X-Trail gains Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, price rises

The 2021 Nissan X-Trail has received a mild makeover to keep the model fresh ahead of the next-generation due about 12 months from now.

Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and digital radio are part of a new infotainment system standard across all 2021 Nissan X-Trail models.

The sole diesel variant has also now been officially dropped.

While autonomous emergency emergency braking had already been added to the Nissan X-Trail line-up, all variants also now come with driver fatigue technology which monitors steering input.

However, Nissan still uses advanced safety technology to walk buyers through the range at a time when many rivals have democratised the latest systems across all variants in a model line-up.

Only the flagship Nissan X-Trail Ti comes with all available safety features including city and highway speed autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, rear cross-traffic alert, a 360-degree camera, and radar cruise control.

A panoramic sunroof and hands-free tailgate are also available on the Nissan X-Trail Ti.

While Nissan is doing sharp drive-away deals on runout models, the RRP of the 2021 Nissan X-Trail range has increased by between $475 and $675.

The 2021 Nissan X-Trail line-up is due in Nissan showrooms from next month, pending any further delays.

According to information sent to dealers, the updated Nissan X-Trail was originally due in Australia in late 2020 but was pushed to the start of 2021.

Prices for key models are as follows (some variants not listed):

2021 Nissan X-Trail ST 2WD manual – $30,665

2021 Nissan X-Trail ST 2WD auto – $32,665

2021 Nissan X-Trail ST 2WD auto seven-seat – $34,265

2021 Nissan X-Trail ST-L 2WD auto – $38,525
