2017 Good Design Awards, Chicago: Genesis, Kia, Mitsubishi the big winners
The winners of the 2017 Good Design Awards have been announced, with several automotive manufacturers snagging multiple titles - including Genesis, Kia and Mitsubishi.
In addition to the aforementioned brands, awards were won by Bentley, Ferrari, Hyundai and Range Rover.
Production models to win crowns include the Kia Niro, Rio and Stinger, the Genesis G80 Sport (Hyundai Genesis), Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross (below), Hyundai Sonata, Range Rover Velar, and the Ferrari 812 Superfast.
Meanwhile, awards also went to the Bentley EXP12 Speed 6e concept, Genesis GV80 concept and the Mitsubishi GT-PHEV concept.
The Good Design Awards - not to be confused with the Good Design Australia awards - were first established in 1950, and are among the oldest and most influential award programs globally. The annual event is held by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, in cooperation with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies.
For 2017, the competition saw the jury critique products and designs from 49 countries around the world.
