Ford's all-new 2013 Kuga SUV will debut below $30,000 when it launches in Australia next month, cutting the cost of entry by nearly $9000.
The new Kuga first graced local shores at last year's Australian International Motor Show. Its showroom arrival will see it replace the ageing first-generation model launched here last year at $38,990.
According to Ford Australia marking boss David Katic, the new Kuga's starting price "will hit a sweet spot" for buyers.
Ford's familiar Ambiente, Trend and Titanium trim grades will be on offer, along with a 1.6 litre petrol EcoBoost engine and a 2.0 litre Duratorq diesel.
The petrol engine will be matched to Ford's six-speed SelectShift automatic, while the diesel will get the six-speed Powershift auto.
Katic described the Kuga as the most advanced SUV the company has ever offered. Along with the recently updated Focus range, it should also prove the most advanced model across the local Ford range.
