2017 Mercedes-Benz Vito 119 Crew Cab review

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz Vito 119 Crew Cab purports to offer the best of both worlds – hard enough for work and soft enough for play. But, is it worth opting for a premium brand over cheaper alternatives?

Across the Simpson Desert in a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen

An endless expanse of red dirt, shrubs and low trees fold away into the distance. Occasionally, you see a small ridge line of brighter, redder dirt, brilliantly red rocks while the odd cow chews some cud as you whistle past on the heavily corrugated road. Welcome to the expansive Simpson Desert, a largely flat landscape of, well, not very much...

Road Trip: Eifel mountains in the Mercedes 300 CE 6.0 AMG 'Hammer'

The sharp right-hander, just before the town of Hirten in Germany’s Eifel mountains, approaches faster than you think. It’s a tricky corner, almost 160-degrees in radius, switching back on itself before opening out into a long, straight stretch of road flanked by the forests and fields Germany does so well...

2017 Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo review: Weekend away

Campervans are very popular, not only as a way to move things from place to place while keeping them dry, but intrepid travellers have found all manner of ways to convert them into manageable mobile homes. If you're looking for that versatility off the showroom floor and can do without the extra row of seats in the van, then the Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo Activity could well be worth a look...

2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class First Look

See the full review here. The facelifted 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class has a fairly difficult row to hoe despite appearances to the contrary. In the face of stiffer competition than ever before, it needs to maintain its status as the luxury flagship, the technological leader for the brand and a pointer to the future of luxury motoring...

The all-new 2018 Mercedes-Benz X-Class ute will arrive in Australia from early 2018, and CarAdvice is in position to tell you what you can expect to see when it finally arrives Down Under. We know there will be three drivetrains offered, and that there will be three model grades...

2017 Mercedes-AMG C63s v 1996 Mercedes-Benz C36 AMG

There's never a bad time to taste some old-school performance, but is anything from the 1990s old enough to be retro cool, yet? That's the question we explore here, looking back at a 1996 Mercedes-Benz C36 AMG - right alongside today's hero, the 2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 S.

2017 BMW 530i vs Mercedes-Benz E300 sedan comparison

While Bill Murray began every Groundhog Day at 6AM back in the early ’90s, the perpetual time warp I’m currently finding myself in starts with ‘5’ and ends with ‘Series sedan from BMW’. Since the all-new seventh-generation 2017 BMW 5 Series range lobbed locally in March, I've sampled both petrol 530i fours and 540i sixes, spent a week with diesel six-cylinder 530d in May, and attended the 530e iPerformance PHEV’s local launch in June...

Mercedes-Benz E220d All Terrain v Volvo V90 Cross Country comparison

If you're anything like me, you think SUVs are purpose-built to define drivers as kid-ferrying lemmings. Why can't you have the ability to haul kids, but the practicality of style and occasional off-road ability. That's what the people at Volvo and Mercedes-Benz thought when they created the Volvo V90 Cross Country and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class All Terrain...

Mercedes-AMG Old v New: 2017 AMG C63 S v 1996 C36 AMG

There's never a bad time to taste some old-school performance, but is anything from the 1990s old enough to be retro cool, yet? That's the question we explore here, looking back at a 1996 Mercedes-Benz C36 AMG - right alongside today's hero, the 2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 S. And no doubt, the '90s was a decade to remember...

Mercedes-Benz says ‘yes' to flying cars

Car makers heading to the skies? It certainly looks like it. As fanciful as it might seem, and as Jetson-esque as it might sound, Mercedes-Benz has effectively endorsed the concept of flying cars - or flying conveyances, more to the point...

Mercedes-Benz EQA concept revealed, 'would make sense' for Australia

The Mercedes-Benz EQA concept, revealed at the 2017 Frankfurt motor show, previews the second all-electric model from the German marque, following on from the recent EQC. And, according to local representatives, it would make sense for Australia. It’s not just a boring concept either, more hot hatch than enviro-friendly conveyance...

AMG Project One and Smart Vision EQ ForTwo both show the future for Mercedes-Benz

The Mercedes-AMG Project One hypercar might have stolen all the limelight at the Mercedes-Benz unveiling before the official opening of the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, but the diminutive Smart Vision EQ ForTwo is just as important to the future DNA of Daimler globally according to the man who should know...

Mazda CX-5, Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet score five-star ANCAP rating

The 2017 Mazda CX-5 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet have been awarded the maximum five-star safety rating by ANCAP this week, while the Kia Picanto micro car only managed four. Scoring 36.48 out of 38 for adult occupant protection (95 per cent), the CX-5 performed well in physical tests and comes with all three (City, Interurban, Pedestrian) levels of autonomous emergency braking (AEB) as standard equipment...

1994 Mercedes-Benz S320 review

Released in 1992, the Mercedes-Benz S Class could arguably be one of the last cars built to the 'the best or nothing' motto. The sheer presence, vault-like build quality and incredible attention to detail command it to being a car almost like no other. It was referred to as 'the cathedral on wheels' when it first came out by the press – a result of the US$1 billion development costs that changed the automotive landscape...

2012 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG review

You can ignore the background of how I came to own this car by skipping the first few paragraphs. Entirely up to you. My first (real) car was a 2005 VZ SS Holden Commodore. I had just turned 22. I remember the excitement of picking it up and being the only person in my suburb to have that model, at the time...

2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC250d review

My son said, “Your old Merc ML is polluting the world and depleting resources. Get something that is more fuel efficient and fun”. So I bought the GLC250d last year; it has done 9000 km so far. Of this, we've gone skiing in the Snowy Mountains three times. On a trip, average fuel consumption is about 6.1 to 6...

2014 Mercedes-Benz A250 Sport review

For those of you who may not have read my previous Owner Reviews, my name is Will Varvari and I am 14 years old. I am a massive car aficionado, and absolutely love writing… hence the reason why you see me on CarAdvice doing these reviews and sharing with you my views. My two previous reviews were about BMW X5s (the E70 and the F15)...
