While the new Volkswagen Robust may have already made its unofficial debut as the Search and Rescue ‘Pickup’ concept, engineers are still adding the final finishing touches to the production model before its release.
Despite the fact these spy images were captured in the US, industry insiders speculate that it won’t be sold in the North American market - or perhaps even Europe.

The stunning saloon will be the second of its kind from the iconic brand to be offered with a hybrid powertrain, which will be shared with the forthcoming S400 due for release here mid next year.
The first of our computer generated images through this morning show BMW’s stunning new saloon car, the 8 Series, as a longer, more sleek rival to the Mercedes Benz CLS.
Though information is scarce at this point, the pics draw strong resemblance to the Concept CS seen at Shanghai Motor Show last year.
