Aston Martin Rapide

This is just a beautiful car! Set for an actual launch date in 2007 (who knows when in 2007). The car is the same size a Mercedez Benz S-Class and a Maserati Quattroporte and the Porsche Panamera, (and most probably the same price)...

Holden Efijy Reunion

Holden recently hosted an event to not only show off their very succesful 6.0L Supercharged 480kw Efijy concept car but also to show it close up to cars of the Early Model Holden Club of Victoria. Unfortunately for the club members, their cars are powered by a 2.2L engine that produces a rather unsubstantial 45kw of power :)...

What is understeer and oversteer?

Oversteer generally refers to a car's tendency to lose grip at the rear wheels, around corners or when pushed hard. This results in the back end sliding out. Oversteer can be found easily in older rear-wheel-drive cars (such as Falcons and Commodores) when pushed hard around a bend or in the wet. Understeer is the opposite of oversteer and is generally more related to the front wheels...

2007 BMW M3 Spy Shots

Yes! Finally the new 2007 BMW M3 is out and about being tested. The current BMW M3 is sold in Australia at a starting price of $140,000 so if you don't know yet, the M badge does to BMW cars what AMG does to Mercedes cars - fast & expensive. There is no official news as to when we will see the car down under but I would expect it in showrooms towards the end of 2007...

Holden Barina 2006 Poor Safety Slows Sales

It was only a month ago I had a laugh about the Safety Rating of the Holden Barina and encouraged no one to even consider it as a car (given that it is based on the miserable Daewoo Kalos). Now it seems like Holden has had enough beating from the public about this issue and are looking at other options for their Korean made Barina...

Subaru Safe & Reliable

You might or might not have noticed that I am a Subaru fan boy. I have dropped little hints here and there in support of Subaru mainly due to the fact that a WRX will be in my garage before the end of the year (don't worry you will hear all about my adventures in finding one) but no matter how hard I try, no one seems to bad mouth Subarus! Its always "Oh its soo reliable" or "its been so good" (please do tell me otherwise if you have had bad experiences)...

BMW Z4 M Coupe Australia

xThe BMW Z4 has always been the sort of car that turns a lot heads as it goes around. The owners know it, thats why they bought it! However whenever it came up next a hotted up Jap car (or even your stock Impreza WRX - Lancer Evo - Mazda 6 MPS) it always failed to match its looks. This is all until the Z4 M Coupe comes out in Australia later in the year...

The Mercedes Benz R320 CDI

Mercedes have decided that they want to use every single letter of the alphabet for their cars. From the A class spawned the B class, we already had the C, CL, CLK, CLS, E, M, S, SL, SLK class and now we have the R class. If you haven't seen one on the road yet, join the crowd...

Holden Astra SRi Turbo 2006 AH MY06

So Holden has kept their promise and is bringing out the brand new Astra SRi. The Holden Astra SRi 2006 (AH M06) will be out later this month (June) and from the looks of it, it is still using the same engine as the old TS SRi generating peak power of 147 kilowatts at 5400rpm and peak torque of 262Nm at 4200rpm. The Astra SRi Turbo has always been a car of mystery to me...

Toyota Australia sales record

For those of you who don't know, Toyota sell more cars than any other car company in Australia. Yes that includes Australia's own Holden. Although I don't tend to give much credit to Toyota, due to their boring, out dated, gutless cars, I can't help but to take notice of the number of cars they are able to sell here in Australia...

Toyota Prius Turbo?

Ever since its launch in Japan in 1997, and international launch in 2001, the Toyota Prius has shown that a Hybrid vehicle is commercially viable. As of April 2006 Toyota has sold 504,700 Priuses around the globe. Although the shape is starting to look a little out dated, the Prius is still selling very strongly on the international and Australian markets...

Next Generation Holden Astra

This is what the new Astra will probably look like, thankfully its not from Korea! So you can be assured that it won't explode when you reverse into a pole. The New Astra is based on the Vauxhall Antara, which coincidently was made by former chief of design at Vauxhall, Martin Smith. I say former because he has now moved on to other things, more specifically, Ford...

The new Audi TT

Finally! We are getting a new Audi TT. The old one looked so amazing that Audi have been selling them (with minor updates) since 1999. Current Australian prices range from $64,000 for the S line coupe to $95,000 for the Quattro Coupe with a power range of 120KW to 184KW respectively...

New BMW Z8

We never did get the OLD BMW Z8 here in Australia, mainly because BMW didn't think it was worth making it in right hand drive and most importantly, because we are Australia and we only ever seem to get the mainstream cars...

Mitsubishi Colt Turbo Ralliart

So Mitsubishi isn't doing that well. Not in Australia, and not overseas. Mainly due to what seems to be a tainted reputation (with their trucks having that massive cover up for faulty parts last year) and also, at least here in Australia, with their consistent price cutting of The Mitsubishi 380. Nevertheless, the guys at Ralliart can't be blamed...
