2011 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe first official images

By Tim Beissmann |

The first official images of the 2011 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe have leaked onto the internet just days before the vehicle’s world premiere at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit next week.

Last month, the German brand revealed details of the C-Class sedan and estate variants. Those models are due in Australia in the second quarter of 2011, and the coupe is also due in local showrooms around the middle of the year.

The C-Class Coupe will replace the ageing CLC-Class, which was released as the Sport Coupe in 2002 and renamed and reskinned in 2008 for a fresher appearance.

There is no official word on the coupe’s technical specifications, although it is expected to mirror the sedan line-up, with engines ranging from efficient four-cylinder units to a high-performance V8 in the AMG version.

CarAdvice will bring you the full details of the 2011 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe when it is unveiled at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show on Monday.

Wow . . . that is really, really nice!!! I wasn’t expecting anything less from Mercedes, anyway!

  • Ethan

Eats the looks out of the BMW coupe and spits out it’s heart… That is one uber cool merc… Are the tables changing??? My My My… Are they surely???

    • petey

      wow really?

I am unbiased on comparing the brands….but seriously??….get an MY11 E92 M3 with performance pack…and well that coupe just eats the look of any merc full stop

      • richard

This car will be nowhere near as expensive as a M3 silly.

        • petey

he made reference to a BMW coupe…. no mention of price, an M3 is a BMW coupe is it not… and since when did Merc (minus the AMG) ever really look sportier/better

he made reference specifically to a BMW… I just tried to justify the comment, silly

      • Richo

The M3 may be a better car, but this c-class couple LOOKS better, end of story.

      • Craig

This looks better than the 335i, which it would appear is the equivalent BMW coupe.

Wait for the AMG version of this, then compare to the M3!

  • Kj

This is the car god drives in heaven! I have dreamed of owning a two-door Mercedes since I was five years old and this is it…I am in love!

    • bryan

Man a 2 door merc is what u could dream off !!!! u need sleeping pills… sleep tight and concentrate…

  • UMWHAT

i hope there will be a manual version. and if you thumbs down me then you have no soul, is a manual transmission too much to ask for?

    • Nath746

I agree. Manual Gearbox and no more silly foot-operated parking brake please

  • Able

It’s a C-Class with two less doors… I don’t think that people get that excited over the C-Class saloon lol. It’s pretty much as expected!

  • Alexander

It’s funny that the current E-Class coupe is based on the C-Class platform, so technically there are two Mercedes C-Class Coupes…

    • davie

That was my thought as well

aside from front styling, how will the “E Class” coupe differ from the C class. Underneath they are the same car.

      • Alexander

I’d assume there is some slight differentiation between the two cars platform wise. They also have totally different body shells, interiors, and probably suspension tuning. The C-Class would have a less premium spec.

        • Monster

The “E” coupe has the same wheelbase as the C-class sedan so I don’t know how they are going to change it with the C-class coupe. And to make matters worse the C-class coupe has a better interior than the “E” coupe.

          • Alexander

I dont think the C-Class coupe will have much of a negative effect on E-Class coupe sales. They will be marketed differently at different prices and spec levels, and i doubt the average consumer will know that the E is essentially a C. It’s a smart move on Mercedes’ part…

  • kiffy01

i was wondering iv got good pics of the 2011 ford territory how do i post them ?

  • RickyC

LOL the headlights are almost an exact copy of the Skoda Octavia.

  • Chris Chappell of Randwick

wheels look fugly, as do the mirrors

i think it will sell well

  • Malaysian

    That…loooks hot, 2 thumbs up!

  • Shak

Looks are subjective, and while the C-Class Coupe looks very nice, i would take the 3 Series or the A5. Just my personal preferences.

    • RickyC

Sorry but I would never pay $84,400 for an Audi A5. This car is $36,500 in the USA. On-road the A5 is $92k and that’s ridiculous

      • Luxury009

Isn’t that the case for most luxury cars? Benz, Lexus, BMW etc are all priced much lower in the US cf Oz.

        • MF

So dont buy luxury cars here. The cheaper the cars, the smaller the price differences (between here and USA). If you dont wanna feel being ripped off that is!

  • Jetta

Love the new M-B range. This is the first time I have preffered the M-B range over the BMW’s. Would love to see an AMG version.

  • Andrew

Nice, but a more compact coupe from MB would be good, given that the E-Class coupe replaced the CLK. This still looks targeted at an older audience, with its long lines and overhangs. I am not suggesting a TT copy, but the scale of the BMW 1 series was clearly a winner for them. I guess MB don’t have a suitable platform at the moment, which would push the price up. Also, I suppose cost has driven the need for a B pillar, which is a great shame, I just hope the door windows are frameless, otherwise its not a proper coupe in my book.
