Luxgen7 SUV Sports and Luxgen7 MPV Elegance special editions unveiled

By Brett Davis |

Luxgen Motors has unveiled two special editions at the 2011 Taipei Automobile and Accessories Exhibition in Taiwan. Called the Luxgen7 SUV Sports and Luxgen7 MPV Elegance, the two specials feature sporty styling additions and trimmings.

The Luxgen7 SUV was first released last year. It’s a large four-wheel drive vehicle that features a 2.2-litre turbocharge petrol four cylinder engine – outputting 129kW and 270Nm. Although output is reasonable, the Sports was built concentrating on visual enhancements. So, the Luxgen7 SUV Sports features the same fundamentals but is garnished in loads of cosmetic upgrades usually found in the aftermarket world.

It gets bigger 20in alloy wheels, smoked headlights and taillights, quad exhaust outlets and red detailing around the base of the major front and side panels. There’s also some carbon fibre trimming thrown in around the front grille and rear hatch.

Stepping into the MPV market with a certain night cruiser personality, the Luxgen7 MPV Elegance features much of the same characteristics and engine as the SUV – although power is down by 4kW. It gets stylish 20in wheels and plenty of black detailing. Inside the car also gets just as much attention; the seats are covered in two-tone diamond-quilted suede while the dash and doors get walnut trimming. There’s also a matching brown leather steering wheel.

Overall, the cars don’t look too bad and should fit in well in their home market in Taiwan. The cars are also rumoured to go on sale in other parts of China sometime this year.

I quite like it too. I am very impressed that they offer night vision, a feature u only see in mid-top end luxury cars as a several grand option!

“Luxgen to start selling cars in Australia” is something that would be news worthy in Australia, but untill then, how is anything this brand does even remotely news worthy on an Australian car news website?

Any car news is worth reporting, for people who love cars.

I am in Taiwan at the moment and I can tell you that these Luxgen vehicles, whilst not yet that common, definitely stand out against the swathes of bland Toyotas, Nissans and Mitsubishis that seem to dominate the streets.

The shoulder of the SUV looks kinda Porsche Cayenne ish, I like. The front is kinda Kia/Hyundai. Looks great with the red accent
