Peugeot 3008 spy images

Peugeot will soon release the all-new 308 here in Australia, but while they are preparing the marketing bits for the car, the French company is hard at work on a new people mover. Meet the Peugeot 3008.
Based on the 308 platform, the 3008 will fight against its sister, the Citroen Picasso, as well as the Renault Scenic and Volkswagen Touran.
The car is expected to be the French answer to the Toyota Tarago, albeit with some much needed style and finesse. The Peugeot 3008 MPV will have sliding doors and be available with seven seats.
On the safety side of things, the car will include tyre pressure sensors, audible passenger seatbelt warnings and a hands free Bluetooth wireless phone kit should all be available on top-spec models.
Rumour has it a new-generation petrol and HDI engines ranging up to 2.4-litres are believed to be in development for the 3008 family.

I know peugeots had water ingess proglems but this is nuts or its wrapped in a car size survival blanket.
It doesn’t look very big for a 7seater. Presumably the 2.4HDI supercedes the 2.2HDI (a great engine).

“The 3007’s successor”?
I have lived in Europe for 5 years and have never once seen nor heard of a Peugeot 3007. Just in case I was going mad I did a google search on “Peugeot 3007″ and got absolutely nothing.

Given Peugeot’s form of late, it’ll probably look better with the camo on.
Phillip – it’s called a ‘typo’ – in case you don’t know what the means; “human error while typing” – if you knew your cars well enough (especially having lived in Europe) you would have realised this and not needed to look on Google. There is no need to make sarcastic comments – pointing it would have been enough.

Same here. Don’t know a 3007 to replace. I think a 3008 would be a new entry into this market for Peugeot, NEST PAAAAAAAAAAR?
They already have a 1007. I would surmise that Peugeot may expand its double-0 series to encompass spin-offs from a regular series such as the 308.
308 looks good. Golfie must be on his best behaviour over the next couple of years, or he’ll find himself being replaced!
Don’t be surprised if this actually looks 1/2 decent in the metal. If the image on the front cover of French mag Autojournal (14March2007)is accurate.

Never heard of a 3007, they have a 4007 which is based on the Mitsu Outlander, but that is being released this year.

For some odd reason I typed it up as a succesor to the 307 – 308, but yes, there is no such thing as the 3007.

Anyway, it’s interesting how Peugeot is now choosing to enter this mini people mover market considering its French sister brands have been in it for a while. I remember actually when the 307 came out I thought “eeek!”, as it seemed that Peugeot were trying to make half a hatchback half an SUV. Such a ghastly top-heavy machine – I rented one in England 2 years ago and was far from impressed. The new 308 on the other hand is quite a sexy machine. As VW Golfs are fast becoming as common as Camrys, people will be looking for alternatives.
