Mother and Son Morris for sale
January 11, 2008 by Matt Brogan
Now you may have noticed that sometimes our news is, well, a little from left field. Perhaps even a lot from left field. This piece is no different.
Most of us are old enough to remember the ABC TV series Mother and Son starring (among others) a black Morris Minor convertible… and here it is, for sale!
OK, so I’m not sure how many of our petrol head friends will appreciate an automotive dinosaur with barely enough power to fight its way out of a wet paper bag and any one with half a clue on how to steer will wince at an antique boasting all the handling finesse of a bloated pig on roller skates, but you have to admit, in a quirky, off centred kind of way, it is a piece of Australian motoring history.
The 1955 Morris Minor Series II Tourer (scoff), which was purchased exclusively for the role on the popular ABC series, will feature at the Sydney Summer Auction and is estimated to attract offers between $7000 and $12000.

Damn when I saw this I though great…Paul Morris’s Dad is selling off Paul and his wife……..SAD…..
Is it all original? Does it have the 1000cc motor, or a Datsun stuck in it?
These went pretty well with a Holden 6 installed, and the holden rear end and front subframes. They looked great too, with the extra flares required.
Classic show!
