First GT-R crashed

January 8, 2008 by Karl Peskett

Well, someone had to be the first to do it. All of us here at Car Advice have shed a collective tear this morning. We arrived to our computers to find this beast of beauty looking very sorry for itself.

The circumstances of the accident are unknown, however it appears to have taken place in Hong Kong, and looks to be the driver’s fault, as only the front end is smashed. Whatever the case, someone is going to have some explaining to do.

Yes, the typical, “It’ll buff right out” has been thrown around, but most of the comments have been along the lines of, “Even if you can afford one, it doesn’t mean you know how to drive one…”

Whoops, looks like someone’s wallet was bigger than their driving ability.

What a clown, maybe he should have bought some shares or a nice chalet somewhere instead.

Gt-R has enough techno to land on the moon but nissan obviously have a few technical hitches with the launch sequence to be sorted.

I woulda though with GPS and all that other techno wizardry, the thing would have steered itself out of that crash…

Must have been a really shit driver.

Anyone for a half cut? Needs some work!Back half all good but may need a bit of a stretch on the chassis straighter if you require all sides matching.

Oh well at least their still making them!

You’d be rather angry at yourself, wouldn’t you?

You never know, a dog might have “jumped out onto the road” and he had to “swerve to miss it”.

HAHAHA my anti-spam work was Skyline – spooky.

Well someone had to be the first to prang theirs I suppose. Shame it was SO early on in the piece though. Poor guy must be in tears.

I have it on good authority that the driver was a Senior Ssangyong designer trying to re-model the look of the GTR to be more palatable for the Korean market. Initial surveys suggest that he has done a good job.

      Man that sucks!! :(

That the GT-R is reported to have some of the best brakes offered on any current production car means this guy was flying and/or made a gross error of judgement.

Frugal One, I wonder what your comment was. Of course I’m sure you were joking but obviously it has nothing to do with the race of the driver but the stupidity of going too fast in a built up area.

      Anti-spam word – Skyline………………..HA!

Um………….this might have not been an accident, the driver might have purposly crashed the car!

yeh… lets go out spend all that many on a skyline n smash it. Only you would say something as stupid. If i was the head off fpv, i would do an aussie version with the “HUNTSMAN” falcon when they bring over the new twin turbo V6. I no it has nothing to do with this post but i couldnt help myself when my anti spam word was FPV!!!

this car was crashed not by the owner but by a reporter for either a car magazine or for a car review. one of the very first pre-ordered GTRs in hong kong and the reporter/company had to scramble around offering high amounts to buy someone elses pre-ordered skyline as a replacement for the original owner
