Imagine sitting inside a pinball ball for seven minutes. Similarly, taking a Caparo T1 around the Nurburgring would offer the same level of G-force and sheer open-mouthed hold-on-for-your-life exhileration. EVO has done just that and posted a recording of it up on YouTube.
You may not think the Caparo looks that fast from the video, but don’t forget the driver would not have been giving it everything; it would’ve been too dangerous on this public track day to do so.
The amount of focus required to drive this car would be like trying to continuously concentrate on a blowfly buzzing around a living room. Except one lapse in attention and it’s not just it that’s gone, you’re gone as well.
Featuring a 3.5-litre Menard V8 engine, outputting 429kW of power at 10,500rpm, the entire dry weight of the car is just 470kg, meaning it has a power-to-weight ratio two times better than the Bugatti Veyron. Accelerating from 0-100km/h can be done in just 2.5 seconds.
Watch below and notice how quickly the Caparo gathers speed and overtakes various ‘fast’ cars on the ‘Ring.
