New Lexus IS Mule Spy Photos

Apart from the new Lexus GS mule being caught testing yesterday, our photographers have just sent us photos of an IS mule showing the new-generation Lexus IS undergoing early stages of testing.

Little information is currently known about what will be different with the new IS. Lexus Australia will soon launch the Lexus IS 350 which will fill the gap between the IS 250 and IS-F.

The development mule is likely to tell that a new generation IS is still a few years away from going on sale. What is clear, however, is that Toyota’s luxury arm is hard at work in preparation to revamp its line-up over the next couple of years.

Lexus IS facelift/hybrid spy photos
Our European photographers took these photos of what appears to be a heavily disguised Lexus IS undergoing speed tests at the German Nürburgring. Although similar in shape to the current model, there are hints of differentiation, the current IS series, which in Australia only includes the IS250, has been on the market since late 2005...

    Is this really a test mule of the next gen IS? It looks to be a current IS with the new F-Sport kit. The 2011 IS range is to include a F-Sport model maybe they are testing the F-Sport upgrades for the Euro market…

    I read sometime ago that the IS will not be replaced until 2013 (or MY2013, like late 2012) due to the late arrival of the IS Convertible. So it could be to soon for a test mule especially considering the GS is due next year and we are only seeing a test mule now.

    I hope this time around they bring out the convertible and F within a year of the sedan. There is also meant to be a wagon version in the making. Hopefully there is a proper Coupe too along with the convertible.
