Chrysler announces Sebring Cabrio pricing
Chrysler has released the all-new Sebring Cabrio which for the first time offers the choice of either a retractable hard top or soft top in a four-seater cabrio - for under $45,000.
Also making its debut in the Sebring Cabrio is the new 2.7-litre V6 engine which develops 137kW of power and 256Nm along with a new six speed automatic transmission - both of which are standard equipment.
When it officially goes on sale this December the Cabrio will be available in two model grades - the Sebring Cabrio Touring and Sebring Cabrio Limited.
“This is a unique Cabrio. There aren’t many drop tops on the market under $45,000 that can comfortably seat four footy players on their way to training”, said Gerry Jenkins, managing director, Chrysler.
The higher spec Limited model adds features such as the unique metal hard top, 18″ wheels, touch-screen entertainment unit and two tone leather interior.
These feature among the standard equipment found on the Touring model which includes a tyre pressure monitor, four-wheel independent suspension, six-way powered drivers seat, alarm and cruise control.
Safety has not been compromised with ESP and ABS, Brake Assist, Traction Control, driver front and side airbags as well as passenger airbags all as standard.

The point of a convertible is to look good in it. This HIDEOUS convertible doesn’t meet that requirement, so the price is wrong regardless.

Hmm $43k? I’d rather the new Focus CC or the Astra Twin Top

Who cares about the price? It’s a plastic warthog.

Two years ago I drove a Sebring around Eastern Canada for about a week. It had a 2.7L six with an auto which is likely to be the same as in this car. What a junky car it was, the handling was far from confidence inspiring, the auto felt like it was added as an after thought and it had that cheap, plastic in the interior.
Usually with cars these days you can find one thing that they do well but with the Sebring it reminded me that good car design isn’t a fluke. Even now I still can’t believe people go home and think “Yeah that Sebring, what a nice car”.
