The Chevrolet Corvette has built such a reputation for itself in the States that, according to Chevrolet, it has not appeared in a television commercial in more than five years for the brand.

GM has chosen to mark the Corvette’s return to the small screen with its flagship 2011 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 to remind the world that “America still builds rockets”.

In contrast to the tame car commercials we have become accustomed to here in Australia, the white Corvette ZR1 in the film is only too eager to let its rear end hang out through the corners – something that would surely have the Australian censors in a fit.
