Mazda3 Maxx Sport Review
The Mazda3 has replaced the Holden Commodore as Australia's favourite vehicle. We get behind the wheel again to find out why it's such a favourite.
I think they forgot to paint the side mirrors lol. I’ll stick to my ‘normal’ MPS. Any stiffer, or any more power through the front whels would be crazy. Wheels look good though.

very tacky….looks like the name is also tacky!

Nick J,
as far as we know for now, there is no power update, but don’t quote me on that.
peter
‘extreme’ tackiness.

Triple Tackiness!

Why no dual exhaust? That would have been more useful in terms of looks then some stickers on the curves…. very cheap looking.

Alborz, definitely a power upgrade too. See below from carsguide site. Pretty impressive.
“Mazda3 MPS Extreme has received engine, suspension and exhaust upgrades that improve the performance of the world’s quickest hot-hatch by about twenty per cent.”
“this extreme makeover involves an ECU retune that takes power from the standard 190kW up to 210kW at 5300rpm, along with a flood of 425Nm at 4400rpm, about the same as the new Evolution X.”
“Zero to 100km/h is expected somewhere around 6.1 seconds.”
Mat
hope its AWD?
Mat
to make this concept more interesting they should have thrown in the running gear of the RX-8 and renamed the car ‘Mazda 3 MPS-R’…. perhaps reviving the ol’ rx-3 lol?
PJ
Yeah, if its not AWD then I ain’t interested.

Styling is a bit off; the “extreme” badge looks cheap in that font. The grey/black striping isn’t my bag and neither is fake looking red-leather-hooker-pants interior. I do like the foglights though.
The power sounds great; but I would fear for my life driving that on the fronts. I’m sure there’s many capable drivers on here that wouldn’t mind that but, 210 on the fronts intimidates me !

Dudes……
Having driven the mps about a half dozen times and caned an SP23 for the past 18 months i’m about to put my order in. Only thing that excites me in my budget. I don’t know what the fuss about front wheel drive is… the thing handles like it is on rails and is far easier to control than rwd. I think some of u just need to learn how to drive!! To put it into perspective others ive driven lately…. 1.MPS 2.Daylight 3. XR5 Focus 4. SS 5. WRX (absolute puss)
