Alfa Romeo Owners’ Club of Australia gallery

By Tim Beissmann |

The Alfa Romeo Owners’ Club of Australia continued its 100th anniversary celebrations today with a display in Lygon St, Carlton.

More than 50 vehicles sparkled in Melbourne in the lead up to this weekend’s Formula One Grand Prix, headlined by Juan Manuel Fangio’s championship-winning Alfetta 159.

The club’s Victorian division President, Barry Edmunds, said Australia had the best collection of pre-1940s Alfas in the world  and admitted it was almost impossible to put a price on many of the vehicles on display.

Here’s a few photos from earlier on in the day. Enjoy.

You can see where they got the design cues for the new Guiletta in sme of these pics.

If Alfa’s were only reliable, I’d take one in a heartbeat.

Im suprised so many of them made it to the show without breaking down.

Did they have any trucks or vans on display?, yes Virginia, Alfa Romeo use to manufacture both.

Unlike Benz though they have closed the door on them and don’t want it opened or to remind anybody of it [why?]
