Chrysler 300 Sneak Peak

By Matt Brogan |

A new Chrysler 300 is getting ready to become the first of many new or updated models for the brand in the next 48 months.

Sketches of the 300 were previewed last year, but now we have a sneak peak of what the grill and headlights look like.

Chrysler claim the 300 is up to 19 percent more fuel efficient compared to the current model, the engine choice will be either Chrysler’s Pentastar V6 or the Hemi V8 with cylinder deactivation. The high performance SRT8 should also be available.

Among the safety features will be ‘Rear Cross Path’ and ‘Blind Spot Monitoring” systems which warn drivers of unseen vehicles. The all important electronic stability control is also on the safety list as well as an energy absorbing steering column.

Chrysler were planning to release the 300 in the last quarter of this year but with their recent financial condition the debut of the 300 may end up being later.

From what has been shown, the front looks interesting. The current 300C looks fantastic and with the right wheels it doesn’t look aged at all – it has its own style and thats the most important bit.

Can’t say the interior is awesome though, same with the current 300C, i guess its just not their strong point. But that said, the exterior aesthetics more than makes up for the boring, perhaps even tacky, interior.

Can’t wait to see the whole thing!

Man they will have to do a better job than the current lardy looks , waist line too high , not cool like audi high waisters .

Have a close look at one on the street , they do not age well , poor panel fit , gaps around bumpers seem to open up.

Looked the goods on release , very retro , but not standing the test of time , poorly executed , FIAT might shake it up , 500 is what good retro, like mini is all about , yanks cannot do it.

Basically just driven by gangsters these days, poor ones.

    Walnut and Chrome, WTF!

I aways get that Bentley feeling when I see 300C. Followed by, oh its just a Chrysler.

I hate ‘em (though I dont mind the estate so much) but a friend has one with the big hemi engine and he loves it to bits, says his missus loves it, his kids love it, everyone loves it (except me). And this is a guy who is no stranger to luxury cars.

I thought of Audi when when I first saw that Headlight enclosure….

i hope you can still put like, 24′s on em, you can’t do that to many sedans

  • WTF

    Audi headlights??

    • PN

Have a look at the headlights on the new A3s with the LEDs / HIDs

Now that is what I call one very large FIAT…..

    Hey Chrysler

how about some decent colours in the new model, the colour choice in the current model is SH!T.

black grey or white????? im SICK of seeing black 300s with the same wheels. Id love a 300 BUT id have to spend 20 grand on it to make it different to all the others. A nice burgundy maybe?? bright green??? a candy blue??? a candy gold???

    ANYTHING!!!

the 300 looked aged when it was released

    THAT WAS THE IDEA

the current model has held its own well, as do most retro styled cars. Updates usually take away the retro looks though( pt cruiser for one )

Hopefully Chrysler does alot better job of updating a muscular sports sedan than HSV did with their series 2. HSV completely botched it!
    PS Won’t affect sales though!

My impression of driving the current 300: approach a round-about with any speed, start to steer – surprise – the car just goes straight! and that’s in a RWD! It feels like a tank inside, but handling is very poor.

Chrysler doesnt have 48 months to spare. They need to bump the product line up to 24-36 months at the least. They cant waste a second later as Hyundai is upmarketing itself, and Americans have lost favor and are skeptical towards this company, and are angry about them not paying the money back yet.

Or, This is going to Continue:

Largest US trade in for Genesis=300C
Largest US trade in for a Sonata=Sebring

If the President gets lower in his poll numbers 2 years from now, expect him to get tough with Chrysler. I hope he does, as he even pointed out the South Korean Threat to this company.

I would like to see any thats driven a 300 and the Hyundai Genesis say that the Genesis is worth $10,000 more. The 300 drives and handles better. Hyundaismoke has an appropriate name . LOL
