Designed in Okuyama’s Tokyo studio, and hand built at his company’s factory in Yamagata, Japan, the Kode57 will go into limited production, although no price or number of units has been announced yet.
It’s believed that the Kode57 is based on the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorino, as both cars share the same wheelbase and engine specifications.
The Kode57 is 4650mm long, 2080mm wide, 1175mm tall, and sits on a 2750mm wheelbase. That makes it 15mm shorter from front to back, 118mm wider, and 161mm less tall than the 599 GTB.
Thanks to an aluminium spaceframe and carbon-fibre body panels, the Kode57 weighs 1650 kilograms. The redesigned body incorporates see-through fenders, a speedster profile, and rear-hinged flip up doors.
The Kode57 interior has a centrally-mounted instrument pod, and is lined in leather and ultra-suede.
Under the bonnet there’s a 6.0-litre V12 with 456kW of power and 608Nm of torque. Buyers can opt for a Novitec ECU upgrade, which ups the output to 509kW and 608Nm. Drive is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential transmission.
The Kode57 rides on suspension that can be raised by up to 45mm in order to negotiate ramps, parking spots, and other obstacles.
Up front there’s 21-inch wheels fitted with 295/25 Pirelli P-Zero tyres, while at the rear the 22-inch rims are shod with 335/25 Pirelli rubber.
