Ferrari World Abu Dhabi

By Anthony Crawford |

Despite all the passion in the world, few of us can ever hope to own a Ferrari. At well over $400,000 it’s not hard to understand why.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t live the Ferrari dream, by hoping on a plane to Italy, hiring a Fiat 500, and following the Sat Nav to Maranello.

If you stand anywhere within a block of the factory, I guarantee that you will see more Ferrari’s within the hour, than you would see in a year in Sydney.

But if you can’t make it all the way to Italy, Etihad Airways will fly you to direct to Abu Dhabi International Airport and within 10-minutes after arriving, you could be driving a Ferrari Formula One car.

Abu-Dhabi-Ferrari-Theme-Park

The World’s first ever Ferrari theme park is under 24-hour construction and is set to open in 2010 with some of the world’s fastest rides.

Take the roller coaster, not only will it be the world’s fastest, but its been designed to feel like you’re in an F1 car.

But if that doesn’t do it for you, then you can suit up and strap into a state-of-the-art racing simulator, which are similar to those used by the Ferrari Formula One team.

If that still doesn’t satisfy your ‘need for speed’ then try the G-force experience, where victims will accelerate straight up to a height of 62-metres, through the roof and back down again.

There’s also an amazing Flume ride through the heart of Ferrari 599 engine, as well as a driving and racing school for junior drivers, with expert tuition.

And to top it off, you can take an aerial voyage over Italy, following a Ferrari.

If you get hungry, you won’t have to eat hot dogs or Kebabs, as there will the best Italy has to offer at either of two restaurants, which will have an ambience similar to what you would find in Maranello itself.

For those with any money left at the end of the day, there will be a massive flagship Ferrari store selling every known piece of Ferrari merchandise, as well as another large building celebrating the brand’s racing heritage and history.

Sounds like a blast!

One more thing they should include is a Fazza dealership, so if the sheiks get tempted after a day at the park with the wives and kids, they have something to indulge in.

i effing love dubai. why don’t ferrari just buy a freakin island aswell…

    • Shakeel

Its not Dubai, its Abu Dhabi, which is the capital.

      • Yanzo

        oooooooh

  • Alex

Well that’s all well and good, but I think I’d rather a racing track and an F430 Scuderia for a few hours over a trip to a Ferrari them park.
It doesn’t even seem as if cars make up a particularly large part of the place which begs the question: what’s the point?
People will be bored of it after a couple of years anyway.

I will say though, it would be good to see a review of the car based theme park CA.

I like the idea, but the result is like the rest of Dubai: Overwelmingly wealthy and slightly vulgar/tacky. It still would be cool to see though!

But if I wanted vulgarity and tackiness I’d goto Macau, so Dubai it is! Everything is cheap! Petrol is like $0.70 a litre!

    • Shakeel

YEah you could go to Dubai but you be about 300 km away from the Theme Park which is in ABU DHABI!

      • Jake02

        OMG, whatever. No one cares!

I shall rephrase to keep your part of the world happy:
“I like the idea, but the result is like the rest of the UAE.” Happy!?

        • Alex

Actually, I care. You know why? It’s because I bet if somebody wrote that your beloved Skodas were from Germany rather than the Czech Republic you’d correct them incredibly quickly.
Why shouldn’t people correct you? At the end of the day, Shakeel’s right. Abu Dhabi is different to Dubai, so why shouldn’t it be said?

          • Chirpy

Ahmen Alex! Dubai and Abu Dhabi deserve seperate recognition for their achievements. Like you say, Skoda is from Czechoslovakia not Germany…

          • Tomas79

All true Chirpy, albeit how about recognizing that Czechoslovakia doesn’t actually exist anymore?!!

          • Marcoz

            Amen to alex…

Its like saying a brisbane is close to a sydney…..lol
Still would love to go to UAE…but gotta watch your swearing and behavour…
Not 2 keen on this theme park though….would be nice to see…but like alex said…would take a scuderia for a couple of hours of a theme park anyday….

          • Chirpy

When did this happen Tomas? Anyway whatever, no one cares!

          • Tomas79

            The Irony!!
