All-New Mazda6 to Debut at IAA

August 7, 2007 by George Skentzos

Mazda will showcase the world premiere of the all-new Mazda6 (known as the all-new Mazda Atenza in Japan) at the International Automobile Exhibition (IAA) in Frankfurt this September.

The all-new Mazda6 arrives as a full redesign of Mazda’s first model to embody the Zoom-Zoom product philosophy, in what is certainly a very attractive package.

Looks very sexy, a nice evolution of the orginal 6

  2. adam says:

I thought the new Mazda 2 debuted the firms new design theme. This car(Mazda 6) doesn’t look like the 2 at all. They both have two very different grilles.

  3. Luke says:

Does that look like a Mercedes Benz Cl???????

  4. Matt says:

I like it. I see themes of the RX-8 there, especially in the front quarter / headlight area. Let’s hope we get the 2.5l V6.

  5. Graeme says:

There’s no 2.5 V6, the only V6 is the 3.5 Duratec (from Ford) but it will be for North America only.

  6. Lazybones says:

Looks a bit Lexus to me. Mazda have done well with both the 6 & 3 series. I like them both.

  7. alborz says:

I think the new 6 will continue with the success of the old one, Mazda can’t seem to put a step wrong these days, maybe Subaru should think about hiring some of their designers and marketers?!

  8. Adam says:

    Alborz…

Agreed. I think this 2nd generation 6 will do well for mzda once again, this is going to be my next car possibly!

by the way i’m the original Adam! lol not the one above…;)

  9. Reckless1 says:

    And I’m Eve……….:)

And I like the look of the Mazda too.

  10. Adam says:

    nah, i prefer steve! LOL

  11. Grumps says:

It would be interesting to see how many Falcodore sales Mazda would steal if they gave us the 3.5 litre in the new 6.

When the 6 hit our shores I will be about ready to look for a new car so this will be on my test drive list.

  12. The Axe says:

I don’t think the V6 would be a success. The beauty of the 6 is the fact that it has a powerful, yet economical, engine in a decent sized good lookign body.

Once again Mazda kicks a goal.

  13. alborz says:

Yes i dont believe the 3.5-litre will make it down under, its not what mazda is about in australia.. but hey, let me ask them!

  14. roberto says:

Yeah I agree with Lazybones. Still an interesting evolution on the previous models! The driving lights under the main lights are bit weirdish set up as this area looks similar a bit to the Hyundai Tiburon (too wide) and should be smaller with separating vent coolers for brakes (really decorations) with different setup. Still looks hot must admit! Shame Ford can’t design cars better, yet they still own Mazda and they have some nice cool looking cars!

  15. Ronnald says:

Yes, bring on the V6 as then I can replace my GE – 626 with another Maxzda, rather than having to buy Toyota. The current modle you had had the option of the V6.

  16. Baji says:

I really like this one. Looks many generations ahead of the predecessor i reckon. The computer renderings that have been around have almost got it right. Its nice to see that mazda has decided to use a bottom heavy design to accentuate the sports car theme (and low center of gravity), but i personally reckon it would look a bit better if the hood wasn’t so plain.
