Lexus adds F-Sport package to revised IS 250 range
October 6, 2009 by George Skentzos
Inspired by the flagship IS F performance sedan, Lexus has introduced a new upgraded IS 250 sedan range headlined by a new F-Sport option package.
Based on the IS 250 Sports, new IS 250 F-Sport gains additional design and comfort enhancements to improve its look and performance both inside and out.
The interior features front seats and a steering wheel lifted straight from the IS F, along with a unique black-with-silver interior trim and a 14 speaker Mark Levinson audio system.
The F-Sport editions will be recognisable from the outside by an IS F-style rear spoiler, grille and the adoption of IS F’s unique Flame Blue paint.
Lexus Australia Chief Executive John Roca said that IS 250 F Sport comes off the back of greater interest from customers wanting an IS with a point of difference.
“Since the arrival of the IS F to Australia, we’ve seen sustained growth in enquiry from customers that hadn’t considered Lexus before.
It will also received sports suspension, twin five spoke 18-inch alloy wheels, aluminium pedals and semi-aniline leather interior.
The updated IS 250 range will also benefit from greater specification and model updates, including USB audio capability, 17-inch alloy wheels as standard and revised moonroof switch gear.

Similar idea as to audis s-line, bmws M package, and mercs AMG.
good move for toyota / lexus
Bad Move, watering down of a not very strong performance sector.
I agree, this is just allowing anyone access to the hi-po world of the F-Line. Lexus should have kept it an exclusive branding much like AMG,RS, or M.
Especially the flame blue, its so obviously an ISF when you see it.
How is it any different to BMW offering M-Sport package on a entry level 3-series? Not a big deal given the “F-line” is still a unknown compared to AMG, M-Sport etc.
Heyyy 17″ wheels standard, that’s a first (think pre-2010 IS, E90 320i, W204 C200K, all 16’s). I remember pre-E90 320i (ie. E46 318i) you didn’t even get alloys standard.
I like this package, those wheels look good, the lowered sports suspension closes up the gap between the arches giving it a much cleaner look not to mention the (supposed) handling benefits as well.
IS F seats are a plus, really plush, holds you well although not as aggressive as say an RS4 (or even a C63).
Not sure about giving the option for the blue paint though, probably should have kept that for the real F.
