Fans of the racer look have been given a treat this week, with the local launch of the Toyota 86 Blackline Edition.

Based on the top-shelf GTS trim grade, the Blackline is priced from $37,990 for the manual and $40,490 for the auto, marking a premium of $2000 over their regular counterparts.
For the price, buyers will get a number a number of exterior and interior styling tweaks – but, as always with the 86, power from its 2.0-litre petrol engine remains unchanged at 147kW and 205Nm.
Styling tricks include a number of components sourced from TRD, including a front spoiler, side skirts, three-piece rear spoiler, rear lower bumper and fender garnishes.
There’s also twin black stripes along the roof and bonnet – giving the special its name – and a “white liquid” paint finish is the only colour option on offer.
Inside, there’s a liberal application of red highlights to the seats, steering wheel, gear knob, brake lever and door grips.
