Jessica Mauboy rocks Kia Soul Live at the Chapel
July 18, 2009 by Paul Maric
One of Australia’s hottest pop divas has taken on a small crowd of 200 at Sydney’s Paddington Uniting Church for her first ever live Kia Soul Live at the Chapel show.
“Wow, what a fantastic night,” Jessica said of the event. “The intimacy of the venue and vibe coming from the audience was just amazing – it was good for the soul! I never imagined I’d be a part of Live at the Chapel. I’ve always been the one at home, watching it on TV. It was such an incredible experience”.
Tickets to the highly coveted Kia Soul Live at the Chapel include an audience from a wide cross-section of celebrities and media personalities.
While only a small audience enjoyed Jess’s performance, the rest of Australia can see her on the Seven Network on the 23rd of August at 11:30AM, along with Channel [V] at 7:30PM on 1st September.
Steve Watt, national marketing manager at Kia Motors Australia, said the second concert further endorsed Kia Soul, Australia’s hottest new car, as the obvious choice to partner with Live at the Chapel, Australia’s premier live music event.
“Jessica Mauboy is a fantastic Australian talent. Her performance last week and the audience response really showed again why Kia Soul’s sponsorship of Live at the Chapel in Australia just makes such great sense,” he said.
The 2009 Kia Soul Live at the Chapel will roll out an additional three events for the year, featuring a host of local and international stars.
Details of broadcast dates and performers can be seen at www.liveatthechapel.com.au.

And were are my free tickets? The Soul has been a slow starter in the market but in the last few months i have seen more interest from young and old.
CA, what’s wrong with this story? I’ll tell you. It’s about Jessica Mauboy and she most certainly is not a car.
Come on guys, we want cars not idol runner ups. You give us this when we still haven’t had a story about the M Sport pack for the 7 Series. Or the Volvo XC60 R Design. Or the fact that Dodges may be rebadged as Alfa Romeos.
Didn’t Jag just get “The body” Elle Macpherson on their team ?
Obviously Jag did better than poor old Kia
Slow news day ?
Stay tuned for next weeks instalment; where Natalie Bassingthwaite Rocks a Suzuki Jimny at the Milk Bar.
Salesy, mate have the Soul sales hit double figures nationally yet?
Seriously, Kia didn’t really think something so “out-there” (read UGLY) would sell did they?
Car what?
DesignEng©™
The Soul was never about volume. The first allocation was only a few hundred. Most of my customers are waiting on forward orders. The idea behind Soul is brand recognition, to get people talking about Kia.
Bavarian Missile®™,
Jessica is a much better fit for the Soul, she is a compact, just like the car.
@ the salesman
Indeed she is a better fit. Compact, talent-less and a complete flop.
Yeah, as per the above posts WHO F’en CARES?
U can get all this c/rap from womens-weekly, no-idea etc etc.
C/A please keep it to cars and cars info!
PS/ I see Kia AUS is up to its 3rd “price revision” for the Soul, while a nice car PLEASE tell them its NOT a Mini, Fiat500 or VW Beetle, its just a plain old [ie needs to be CHEAP] Kia, nothing more, no icon here!
PSS/ Needs to be same price structure as USA, the Soul kicks off at around the SAME price as a Rio Hatch, ie Soul is a $15k vehicle, not more.
$25k…lol on to your 4th price revision Kia!, gut feeling even at UNDER $20k, say $19,990 will still struggle.More than a FIAT 500 lol, on drugs Fletcher!
Cheers

if you’re gonna put an article up about girls and cars, next time… CHOOSE A GIRL THAT IS HOTTER AND IN A BIKINI
she’s lost weight
Since this thread has already gone to the dogs, I’ll give my two cents worth. I think Jessica is hot!
Thanks for the great ‘car advice’ that this article has informed me about… I guess soon you’ll be running stories about the AFL win/losses each for each round since they are sponsored by Toyota.
Shameless Advertorial for Kia!
Jessica is a lovely looking lady, but the car is boring and too Mattel like.
I bet people will consider buying this funky(?)looking car, just to look/feel special while infact it looks like a life sized Ken & Barbie vehicle.
I am sure comments would be different if it were Ford and not KIA…
Lets face it; the Kia Soul has been a sales flop in Aus, (too expensive, poor resale, only average build quality, ESP not standard on base), and its sponsorship of a sad little aussie music show ain’t gonna fix anything. Kia’s marketing department is in desperate need of a good shake up – Kia make some good cars and it’s about time that a little heart and soul were injected into their marketing campaigns.
Jessica is the target demographic for the Kia. So, it’s a good fit.
PS Don’t see why you don’t think she is attractive. A supermodel? No. But IMO She is quite a good looking girl.
CarAdvice, please delete this story, every one is turning on each other! At this rate Jessica Mauboy will be burnt at the stake and all Kia Souls torched!
Wow, nice ad, CA.
Yes Martin,
The whole world is against everything but Fords……
Get real……..
Seriously, this is getting a bit sad C/A.
Now where did you file the Toyota cup report???
Sorry, Jessica who? I don’t watch or listen to mainstream garbage, so this won’t make any difference to my feelings about Kia. They still make rubbish, and always will. And obviously Steve Watt has no taste in music. Pftttt….
Bavarian hottie, when the blue and white properly ring you up and ask you to be an ambassador for them perhaps you could give little Jessica a hiding, until then you should probably shut up!
From memories Bavarian was a promotional chic for several years ,so well may have done work for BMW Forza .
john apparently you were also a promotional chick for Kleenex, get a grip wood duck
No one is forcing you to read the story you bunch of Negative-Nancy’s. It’s just one advertorial in amongst more car news than the average person should be able to ingest in one day.
Look, I hate this kind of advertising too, and there are plenty of stories between the good ones that don’t interest me one iota here, however I’ve discovered this amazing technique whereby if a story doesn’t interest me, I don’t click on it! You’ll be amazed how much time you’ll save and stress you’ll avoid if you too employ this technique.
Consider yourself lucky Car Advice isn’t cluttered with copious amounts of advertising like other competitor sites.
Just relax and take the good with the bad my friends, the good with the bad.
Jimmy, nobody is forcing me to read the M5 review either, but I did because it’s about cars.
However, I will freely admit that I clicked on this story and left my comment simply to complain. But I think it was deserved here.
Jimmy, I totally agree! It’s soft that your all quick to have shots at Kia and Jessica, not to mention personal shots at Kia’s marketing manager, for doing nothing less then his job! Kia is trying to develop their brand and gain market share in a tough new car market, and doing a great job at that. Jessica is a 20 year old performer also trying to make a living, for all we know aspiring to be then next Elle Macpherson. If you don’t like it, don’t look. If it disturbs you that much, click the ‘Contact Us’ link and make a constructive complaint and i’m sure C/A will happily take it on board. Otherwise, your more then welcome to post on here what you guys do for a living and we can sit around and criticise you!
