Mazda Australia records best month ever
July 1, 2009 by Matt Brogan
Despite the on-going financial doom and gloom Mazda Australia have bucked the trend recording its best sales month ever this June retailing a bumper 8406 units.
The impressive result shattered the company’s previous best of 7565 set back in March of 2008.
The key to Mazda’s success rests largely with the all-new Mazda3 which sold some 3741 units across Australia in June.
Mazda’s BT-50 utility and Mazda2 small car have also had a good month with 1327 and 1202 model sales recorded respectively.
“This truly is a wonderful result for Mazda and our world-class dealer network, with very solid sales across all of our line-up,” said Mazda Australia managing director Doug Dickson. “It clearly demonstrates that the New Generation Mazda3 will build on the success of the original model. The New Generation Mazda3’s combination of style, Zoom-Zoom performance, features and outstanding value builds on Mazda’s brand DNA. This recipe clearly satisfies the expectations and desires of a growing number of Australian new car buyers.”

Out of interest, what do you call those that purchase the inferior product???are you talking about your ford products??brake, rust, ball joints and space saver tires?not even dare to recall to fix some serious problems.you bogans deserve it.these dinosaurs will be dancing and singing as long as you bogans turn the blind eyes on their poor quality products.
Reality Bite – Stop biting on Sh_t,then you wouldn’t speak Cr_p,and your breath would smell better.
Let’s not get any more bogan than this, it’s sickening people buy on looks alone and saw crap selling better than the rest.
Mazda, just cure the rear seat space and I’ll get the 3 in no time.
Congrats to Mazda for bringing out a funky new and bold design……will be testing the new MPS on the 22nd July spl invite
Thanks Andrew.
Hope i will find the car i want since a long time ago…always want the mazda 3
AAA Says:
“The new 3 got a stupid grin. Wait for a few months when the old 3 run-out sale are no longer available then report back.”
I think you will find AAA that the previous generation 3 is only a very small part of those sales numbers. The reason is Mazda almost ran out of the last model 3 before the release of the new one. That is why Australia’s launch of the new 3 was brought forward a couple of months. Even then there was a period where certain versions were not available until the new model arrived.
AAA….Old Mazda 3’s are No longer Available, this RECORD SALES result for Mazda is 99% of the NEW 2010 Mazda 3 Model, NOT THE OLD ONE!
BTW..THE REASON THE NEW MAZDA 3 SEDAN AND TO AN EXTENT THE HATCH HAS SUCH A HIGH AND LARGE REAR END (And Bumper Bar) IS BECAUSE IT COMPLIES WITH THE 2011 REAR COLLISION CRASH REGULATIONS FOR THE USA…So get used to it…ALL the new models will have large backsides to comply…..Mazda 3 is just one of the first to do so.
YES… the VW Golf is a very good car, BUT, long term it just does not have the reliability of the Mazda 3.
VW rates VERY low in consumer reports, particularly for 3 year old new cars.
Ash, just ask me about Golf reliability.
The new Focus is better. Looks better and drives better :)
Reality,
not even BMW have a vehicle that could effectively replace my FG.
They dont have a vehicle that competes in its class at whatever the price.
Aside from that, BMW nor Lexus have a vehicle that competes in the clas with Falcon and Commodore unless you talk of the poor mans Lexus in the Camry/Aurion
Maybe they should bring back the Toyota Lexcen, kinda sounds like Lexus and people who really deep down want a Commodore can have one and delude themselves as to how much extra better their car is with a different badge…
Reality, Camry might be America’s best selling car for 7 years but it’s still technically a local, with extensive reengineering. It’s still also a worse handling car than Falcon or Commodore and performance v. economy isn’t entirely convincing either. Buy an Aurion or Falcon XT with ZF auto and they have much greater performance and safety with same fuel economy.
camry is a world car….your carp dinosaurs are not.
there is more important things in life than how to turn into the corner.get a life and keep fixing your dinosaurs so called command problems forever.just read today carguides for rusty ford.good luck.these dinosaurs should not be on the road just for safety reason.
Reality Bite – You’ve been eating Manure again haven’t you???
@ Reality Bite
Carp dinosaurs? Obviously you’ve got a warped sense of what dinosaurs are then, because Carp are related to goldfish, and last time I checked neither were extinct, like all actual dinosaurs are.
Maybe this explains why you are calling Australian built cars dinosaurs, because you don’t truly understand what it takes to be a dinosaur? Using one example, the VE Commodore is a world car. Designed in and for Australia, it has been successfully exported to the Middle East, NZ, the UK and the USA (only stopping now because Pontiac is being closed) and it’s platform has been developed for other models and is built at various locations overseas.
A Camry is a Camry in almost every market. The VE is a different car in almost every market and this speaks for the platform’s ability to shape itself for a particular market, something the Camry can never claim. I keep in mind the Aurion when I mention this.
And for the record, I am not a Holden fan and would rather an FG, but doesn’t Holden’s example prove a point?
I am buying a CX 9 from Eagers Mazda at Newstead, QLD Australia. They are currently giving me a hardest time ever. They messed up my deal so many times. After 5 months of long hassels, they are delvering me the car with wrong interior color that I have ordered. I had to .08% more intreset in my loan and they promissed to deliver the car today, 9/10/09. I had a lots of plans with my family with the new car for the weekend. In the morning, 1 guy called me and said he can’t deliver the car due to not been detailed properly, then he rang me in 1/2 hour and said he’ll detail him self, wont be as good, but he’ll deliver by 12.30. I was still happy. 12:15 another guy rang me and said, they are a public company and facing issues rectifying the docs and it has to be monday. I was hals way though to the dealer. Hows this for a brand new car after waiting for this long for it to be delivered. I don’t know whether this is Mazda’s normal practice(way of doing business). I am very upset. Please be carefull when buying a car from dodgy companies. Ultimately it’s your hard earn money. I have baught Toyta, Nissan, Landrover, Mercedeze before and they looked after me very well. They make me feel I am making the best decission in my life and their proffessional service was fantastic. Most of them even gave me flowers, champaign, Weekend cruises etc, When I baught the car. I am very SAD & ANGRY. DON’t buy cars from Eager’s Mazda, Newstead. They cheated me big time. No respect for their customers.
