Mazda recently sent their force-fed hot hatch - the Mazda3 MPS - to the Nurburgring in Germany. The results were surprising to say the least.
The 2.3L turbocharged inline-4 engine in the Mazda3 MPS rockets the car from 0-100km/h in 6.1 seconds - making it the fastest car in the Mazda line-up, beating even the mighty RX8 (6.2 seconds) and the Mazda6 MPS (6.6 seconds).
The completely unmodified hatch laps the track - and a few bikes - in an impressive 8m 39s.
