Will be interesting to see how Toyota fair in the future now they will along with everyone else be forced to quote driveaway pricing.
Should favour the Koreans especially as the price contrast will be even more obvious.
Reckon this could be a winner for Holden and Ford too.
Commodore on top again ?
Can u guys show the sales figures for every time now?
That informations great, maybe the makes of the cars too e.g territory barina corolla.
If you keep showing this info we will have no reason to go anywhere else! :)
sorry, meant to say models not makes….
Ok, so super cars are less than 0.2% of sales yet they occupy almost 35% of topics at CA. Todays page has 7 car stories and 3 super car stories. There is a disparity here. This as well as the online pole shows what we all really want from CA. MORE car reviews less super car talk. If I didn’t love CA I would just move on without comment.
Do the figures include commercial vehicles?
Can we also have the cars bought as well. Like the top ten car’s. Whats the sale figures for Ford and Holden at the moment casue they are always crying poor.
I disagree Hagar, you can’t be simplistically democratic in these circumstances. Camrolla buyers will never look at this site anyway so there is no point in reviewing what are the most pleasing tones of beige and where to buy headrest doilies from.
People like to read abut cars that may be out of their financial reach. It’s called aspiration!
Hagar, I was surprised by the poll results but your comment is wrong. I may never be able to afford one but learning about supercars and desiring them is always good!
How many of the 9177 cars “SOLD” by Holden were actually sold to consumers. As it is Holden’s practice to class cars delivered to dealers as sales, even though they are sitting on the yard waiting to be sold to consumers.
what are the private figures? minus all the fleet sales.
would include light commercial vehicles as well i would imagine!!, good to see mazda, honda and subaru doing well!
interesting to note ford is closing the gap on holden…considering holden has many more models for sale.
is this because aussies are finally sick of the bland nature holden is giving us in the guise of cheap and tacky korean imports? ford made that mistake in the 90s during the same time holden imported pure europeans. now ford is importing european gems and the public have seem to stand up and noticed.
Splatcat,
How is this unique to Holden only???
seriousley.
john,
Agreed.
I’ve been watching the gap close between Ford and Holden for a while now.
Holde better hope cruze takes off as fiesta is gaining steam, focus was facelifted.
splatcat, i dont believe that is correct!!, vfacts is based of new registrations for the month!! so cars that are actually registered on the road, it does however include dealers registered demos!.
Only 7 Ferrari’s bought in may, come on that doesnt seem right….
lol….
Interesting that Ferraris outsold Astons, normally its the other way around (heh read what Mike Lawrence has to say about Ferrari at PitPass). Also amazing is Mercedes outsold Kia – what financial crisis? It is also interesting to look at group figures rather than by marque. VW moves up the chain by a couple of places. Do Ford still have a stake in Mazda? That would move them up too. The Fiat/Chrysler group doesn’t move far though….
Rongway, i just read that about Mark Lawrence and he is a wank….

Go to the Australian Green Guide for the top 10 in Australia
Porsche outsold Skoda? Seems like Skoda still has someways to go to convince aussie car buyers :(
I enjoy reading stats such as this. What I was wondering is do you plan to do January to June next month? “You asked and we listened”. Thanks if you can.
This is great. Why is it so difficult, usually, to find monthly Australian figures charted whereas pretty easy to find stats from other countries. The top selling individual model stats would be good too.
Agree with most.
Further break down would be good to see, but that may be pushing it……
I mean for eg how are we to relate how the Isuzu ute is fairing when its competition is hidden under another banner??
I find these figures hard to find. I usually give up after trying
Further break down would even show us how the aussie built models are selling versus the imported ones since toyota, ford and holden have a mix of both
I have tried twice on corresponding threads yesterday to post a breakdown, yet my posts would not go through. Don’t know if it is from CA end or my end but I gave up! The figures are available if you dig deep enough (r have the right contacts)
Thanks for this CA, I would like to see this here every month along with top 20 models also.
Cheers
Hope to get to see the model ranking… Thx…
Thanks for putting this up CarAdvice. I am interested to see that Renault faired better than Citroën, I always thought Aussies prefered them. I am glad to see Renault’s sales picking up a bit (and thats saying something haha) and also I am very happy to see Mercedes-Benz selling as much as they do.
