2011 Renault Clio illustrated
May 27, 2009 by George Skentzos
The new generation Renault Clio is set to receive a facelift to bring it into line with the new design direction introduced with the 2009 Renault Megane.
While these illustrations may seem quite far-fetched, their design should be rather accurate as they have been based on a set of allegedly official renderings leaked last month.
The current Clio in its performance guise has a rather healthy reputation as being not only one of the best handling hatches in the world, but one of the best handling cars in the world – period.
The Nissan-Renault alliance should see that this reputation is upheld, with each company bringing its own performance expertise to the table in a match made in motoring heaven.
This partnership is also expected to lead to an all-electric Clio in the near future, using the powertrain from Nissan’s Mixim concept.

First picture I thought I was looking at a Toyota Yaris or Corolla.
tell the person who designed this, that every once and a while, its okay to use a ruler. Seriously what’s up with that window line?
Yes totally agree with you Reckless1!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is it me or we agree with a lot of things!? ;)
^^ or Mazda 2, Suzuki Swift etc, etc……
Front: A mix of Mazda 2. Rear: Yaris/Corolla. Side: Mazda 2/Corolla.
Not cute or good looking…hmmm.
I agree……..
They have ripped off (and improved) the Corolla!!
Sure like the word ‘illustrated’ today, don’t we?
Hehehe, they sure do Crouchy!!!!
You guys have nailed it. No originality and no ruler. Looks like a last-generation Japper (and probably drives worse). Europe is stuffed.
From the front it looks like an even happ-happ-happier Mazda2.. but from the rear it looks rather sad
It looks as if it will need a reversing camera.
it looks alright. easy to park and easier to swerve in and out of traffic cause it’s so small.
This is obviously very far fetched. Looks more like a go-kart than a car.
Doesn’t look to bad though. The recently facelifted Clio’s face isn’t the best looking…
What a disappointing design. And I love French cars.

Looks ok to me, put a Mazda or Toyota badge on it and it would probably sell quite well in Auz. I think many Australians think French car brands shouldn’t look modern or something, either that or people know that French cars are not as trully modern because they are not quite as reliable as many Japanese cars so they deserve to not have a modern car design. I mean, the current Laguna is a bit too abstractly designed for just a family car but the Clio is supposed to look modern in a fun way, compare this to an ordinaryly looking current Clio, big improvement I think. I still prefer the Citroen concepts however, even over the Peugeot concepts.
