2011 Jaguar XJ prototype spied

By George Skentzos |

This heavily camouflaged prototype is in fact the new generation Jaguar XJ which is confirmed to be radically different to the current model and far more modern.

According to Jaguar’s chief of design, Ian Callum, the outdated styling of the XJ has severely hindered sales, posting considerably lower figures than the much sleeker XF.

Its elaborate disguise ensures that the new design direction for the XJ will remain a secret for now, although subtle features can be gleaned from these images such as the much sharper new headlight design.

The underpinnings will remain relatively identical with Jaguar modifying the existing all-aluminium platform to re-use it for the code-named X351 which will make its official debut in spring 2011.

Well as long as it’s lower than the XF and keeps the long, low and sleek look that it’s always had. It’s iconic to the XJ so they have to.

I think the front end will look similar to the XF, but they cant keep the XK/XF angle at the back without losing headroom for his and her lordship who will be chauffeured around in it. Will be verrrrrry interesting – I think July is the debut.

We say this very car in Swindon on 17/05/09 with Mitsubishi Badge on the rear… Prefer the armour than any other car design so far…
