Congradulations Volkswagon! This is long overdue and should be of no surprise to anyone that Volkswagon has developed and is introducing this economical vehicle.
For the sake of the world,it’s resources and it’s people
I wish you great success with this bold step toward the future and where we need to go.
Good job!!!! However just to be sure i would post the technical plans, details of the drive train, composites used and every part of this car on the net so it can NOT be quashed by big oil or the big 3 here in the western world, we need to get tech like this out so it doesn’t just die. Ideas for better cars, more efficient engins ect…ect… have been around for a long time, the problem is making sure it makes it to market, DONT LET YOURSELF BE BOUGHT OUT, in an economic hell like we are seeing now, a car like this will sell like hotcakes around the world. TRUST ME!!
I would like to be put on a mailing list for new info. and would like to know when the car will be available in the USA.
Great idea. I really am sceptical of the 200+ MPG claim. Any info as to equipment in cabin, such as radio, tape, etc. No A/C I’m sure so we desert dwellers will have to do without apparently.
Atta Boy Volkswagen!!
My first car was a new ‘60 VW in December 1959 and was the best car I ever owned. If VW will hurry up, maybe this one will be the last one I ever buy–assuming you don’t drag your feet too long. Am anxious to learn more about it and when it will be available to us in the USA.
Where can I find more details like availability, price, contact perso etc. Thank you.
hg.
I’m also interested in more details of availability, price etc please.
Many Thanks, Warren Jolly

I want one of those! I’m sure there’ll be some kind of regulation prohibiting the sale of them in the US. :(

I doubt that it will ever make an American debut. It wouldn’t pass our safety tests unfortunately.
