2009 MIMS Exhibitor Stands
February 27, 2009 by Alborz Fallah
As the economic downturn takes its toll on car manufacturers worldwide, the decision to alternate motor shows between Sydney and Melbourne has certainly been a blessing in disguise.
The manufacturers have come out in force, with many brands returning to the arena floor to showcase their cars, helped on by the fact they can now concentrate on just one major Australian exhibition per year.
Below is a collection of manufacturer displays from the 2009 Melbourne International Motor Show.

I went and the Audi stand was great as you could sit in all cars but one – and that was not as you might expect, the R8. As ususal, BMW were maxing their $s (have had two and servicing was massive expense for what it was, and the loan car was generally a Bongo van and they chagred $20 for the displasure of driving it! You can guress that I have not indulged since)and had two very anemic looking white 3 series open – they had blue writing etc on the sides, and looked exactly what they were – the sacrifical lambs, the trash for the trash, for all the punters that BMW anticipated would be at the MIMS – or according to their version of that a bogan constitutes, anyway. Less power to them.
Aside from the fact that ovlovs were not represented, it was good value.
