A mildly updated version of the Citroen C3 will take to the stand at next month’s 2013 Geneva motor show.

The 2013 Citroen C3 facelift introduces a new chrome grille that embraces the French car maker’s double chevron badge, as well as new strips of LED running lights in the front bumper.

The rear end scores dark-tinted tail-light clusters and new reflectors at the base of the bumper. A new Ink Blue paint colour expands the C3’s palette and completes the short list of subtle exterior revisions.

Citroen has updated the seat fabrics and leathers in all C3 variants, and the dashboard is now available with matt black, warm brown and moondust grey finishes. A rear-view camera will also be offered in high-grade models, enhancing the C3’s safety credentials.

The updated Citroen C3 is set to launch in the UK in June and is expected to reach Australian showrooms sometime in the second half of the year.

Citroen Australia – now under the management of Sydney-based importer Sime Darby – recently announced a dramatic shake-up of the C3 line-up.

The new entry-level model, the 1.2-litre three-cylinder C3 Seduction, is priced from $17,990, making it $6000 cheaper than the previous base model, the 1.6-litre four-cylinder C3 Seduction, which has also been cut $2000 to $21,990 with no change to its specification. The 1.6-litre turbo-diesel C3 Seduction sits at the top of the range at $22,990.

The updated 2013 Citroen C3 will debut in Geneva on March 5.
