Video: Hyundai Genesis ad behind-the-scenes
January 22, 2009 by George Skentzos
Hyundai is certainly beginning to make waves in the automotive world, with its next step being to showcase the Genesis Coupe during the highly coveted Superbowl ad slots.
With New Zealand-born drift and stunt driver Rhys Millen given instructions to go as sideways as possible, Hyundai plans to also make the footage available online for fans to piece together their own Superbowl ad.
This behind-the-scenes glimpse from MotorTrend shows Hyundai has pulled out all the stops for this make-or-break marketing campaign, enlisting a Porsche Cayenne and Mitsubishi Evolution as high-performance camera cars.
The finished commercial will be seen on February 1 during the Superbowl, of course.

Not bad Hyundai…not bad at all.
Just looked at some high res pics of the car. Its very good looking. Puts alot of other asian sports coupes to shame in the looks department.
Ergh listening to the Kiwi accent thats being mashed with a bit of an American accent is painful.
But the Hyundai Genesis looks good, would be most interesting a car.
finally the koreans are catching up to the Japs… can’t wait to see comparison between this and the 370Z… and the Toyobaru coupes…whenever they’re coming out
Unreal!
Shame YANKS cant say “Hyundai” properly at all!

Neither can we. We know it here as “Hee-yun-day”, when actually it should be pronounced “Hyoon-die”.
As a Hyundai Employee, the correct pronouncation is in fact Hee -Yun- Day thats our the Koreans pronounce it, you would hope they would know…
Means “Modern” By The way
Hyundai are making great cars these days. keep it up.
We’ll Hyundai still has a big way to go in this market. Please name one vehicle they sell here which is great??? All low durability shiny trinkets, superficial with nothing of substance. This genesis sounds ok on paper but I’ll wait to see if their quality is at Honda, Subaru or Mazda levels before I’d begin calling them great.
Love the work of Hyundai’s marketing department in this.
The use of a Porsche Cayenne and Mitsubishi Evolution as “high-performance camera cars” is a classic marketing trick that makes their car look more expensive than it really is by “association”.
there are much better drifter than him
