Renault extends BioFuel model range

By Matt Brogan |

Renault is actively working on a range of environmentally respectful solutions within its eco2 signature including today extending its E85 program to two more vehicles within the Renault model range.

The Renault Modus (not yet available in Australia) and Kangoo now include an E85 bioethanol fuelled option as part of the range, adding to E85 powered Clio and Mégane models which are already available.

E85 bioethanol is both economical and ecological and, in addition to enjoying favourable pump prices in the majority of European countries, it reduces well-to-wheel CO2 emissions by as much as 70 per cent.

Renault’s E85 vehicles are flexible too since, like many other cars of this kind, they are capable of running on either E85 fuel or unleaded petrol.

Although availability of E85 here in Australia is very limited at this stage, E10 bioethanol fuel is readily available.

Always check your vehicle’s specific requirements before filling up with alternative fuels.

    Good to see another manufacturer at least offering these flex-fuel cars, whether or not it’s the best way to go fuel-wise.

    I’d prefer LPG, or Natural Gas.

    Any manufacturer offering these cars in Brazil could do so here too.

    Surely a Flex-fuel car should be the default?

    Running on anything from Premium Unleaded to E85?

    {Your comment is awaiting moderation….I think NOT!}

    Total waste of time, the std. ULP and DIEsel engines are already frugal [no relation!] on fuel.

    If you want to be super-green AND save, get the Aussie made fuel [not imported].

    $2000 back from Dudd abd a further $1000 back if your a W/Australia.

    Cheers
