The new XK will be revealed at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2009 boasting revised styling and mechanical upgrades to distinguish it from the current model.

Exterior changes include a new front bumper with revised air intakes below the headlights, plus a redesigned rear bumper with new LED tail lamps.

These changes will be applied to the entire XK range, including the performance XKR and extreme XKR-R edition due next year.

The engine line-up will remain the same, however expect a few small tweaks for some added horsepower, along with stiffer suspension and recalibrated steering.

Who own this company these days?
    What’s a ugly face !!!
It’s so dated everything this car…
There are so many good looking and good performance alternative option or even cheaper than this car.
    … That’s my impression.

That front does not scream agression, if anything, it’s scared out of its pants!

  3. Martin says:

I am failing to see any difference at all, apart from the wheels.

  4. Cupid Stunt aka No Name says:

Yep they managed to f*ck it up. I personally thought it looked great as it was but given it isn’t selling well they needed to do something.

The real news is TATA have approached the UK government for bailing out of the ailing company. So far the Gov has said “no” unsurpisingly. Foreign company so sort it out yourselves. My guess is Jaguar will slowly faid away throogh lack of investment. Seeing the above this has already begun. Sad day

I dont really see the difference. In the flesh, these things (the current model) are gorgeous, and because the front end is low, you dont really get the full aspect of the grille that you see in the first photo, so the pics are not flattering (and the colour putrid). The bonnet hump looks lower (it needs to be high enough so that they can stamp “supercharged” on it – how cooooool!). As for Jag going for the bailout, every brand is suffering at the moment – if money is on offer only a fool would ignore it. I suspect that jag is a lot safer with Tata than it ever was with Ford, but time will tell. Then again, I am biased and could have the rose coloured glasses on…

Sad – looks like we’ll be saying ta ta to jaguar!!!

  7. Wheelnut says:

Oh Mr Hart; what a Mess!

What have they done to the front? did the guy who is responsible for the current Camry get a go at designing a Jag? It looks more like a Japanese ricer than a British sports car.

And are those “ashtrays” in the bonnet really necessary? they look like an after-thought similar to the Nostrils on the CV8 Monaro bonnet

  8. GTR says:

Why can’t Jaguar design cars that look good from the front????

  9. o says:

You are all joking right this is the same kind of facelift that toyita gave the hilux or the 2006 mazda 3 are you seriously expecting it to look radically different. The presence that this car has ont he road is amazing it is an enoumous car and appeals to a more subdued crowd thatn the m3 and RS4.Thought hat colour is fugly

  10. Alex says:

Sorry, what’s this about goodbye Jaguar? So the British government isn’t giving them money then they will do what Holden don’t have the balls to do and LAY PEOPLE OFF. It has to happen sometimes. And if the British Government don’t like it, they will step in then. Same with Land Rover. I don’t think Jaguar is going anywhere yet.
This car is gorgeous, I don’t know why it needs a facelift. It’s perfect already. The front looks like a cat I think which is quite appropriate really. I really want a XKR convertible. I have come so close to buying one on more than one occasion but then get sidetracked by work or something.

  11. jackson jaguar says:

im agreeing with alex, this car is already awesome,
    GO JAGUAR!
    ILYSFM!

  12. mixtmeta_iv says:

(It looks a bit Merc-ish (CLS) on the sides towards the rear, no? And sort of… American from the back. + what’s with those ‘after-market’ lumps on the front corners??)

Although the colour’s crap, I think the shape’s beautiful. It’s not porn like an Aston(ishing) Martin, but it’s no ugly thing.

If it sounds as sexy as it looks then I want one in black.

    Actually, no. I don’t. I want _three_. :)
