2009 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder
Lamborghini has finally unveiled the much anticipated Spyder version of its new Gallardo LP 560-4 at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
As the successor to the best-selling Lamborghini of all time, the LP 560-4 Spyder perfectly combines the performance and handling of the coupe with the luxury of open air driving.
As the brand’s largest global market, the Los Angeles Auto Show was specifically chosen as the location for the supercar’s worldwide debut, with Southern California contributing to approximately 30 percent of all Lamborghini sales in the United States.
“The LP 560-4 is the best example of the Gallardo to date and will be a great contribution to Lamborghini’s future success,” says Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “The entirely new LP 560-4 Spyder adds another dimension to the Gallardo’s lineage with extreme design language and class-leading performance.”
The Spyder boasts the same 5.2-litre V10 engine as its hardtop sibling which develops 412kW and 540Nm at 6500rpm.
Performance has been slightly compromised, covering naught to 100km/h in ‘about’ 4 seconds - compared to the coupe’s 3.7 seconds, and a slightly slower top speed of 323km/h.
The Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder is now available to order from dealers worldwide, with customer deliveries commencing Spring 2009.

I like that a lot!
Can’t say I’m a huge fan of the wheels, but I would manage.

I like the wheels, and I love the rest of the car. It is one of very few convertibles that a real man can drive. I also love that that white is being used on supercars.

Waste of time. No one can afford these. I would much prefer my HSV over this anyday. HSV rock.

If I were a multi millionaire under 30, I’ll buy one of these over anything. Best gold digging chick magnet ever.

I must admit I am slightly concerned that its top speed is slower than the coupe… 323km\h I might need that extra speed one day if I was to own one.
Great car as a coupe and a sensational looking Spyder!

As far as good looking convertibles go, this is still miles away from the Vantage Roadster.
