Thats getting pricey but nice all the same. I’d prefer a gutsey diesel anyday over a wheezy petrol donk. Sadly Pug don’t seem to want to push the diesel power outputs like others. A 150Kw TDi would go some.

When you consider the other euro competition, golf gti, skoda rs ,focus xr5 ,civic type r all around same price , its a bit weedy power wise.

Visually not much difference to xs price starter at $26000
, needs more go on the looks dept .

So is this just the GT that is already being sold overseas?? As much as I like them, they need a 5 or 6 speed auto in this car that can compete with the VW DSG gearbox. The 4 speed auto stinks.

That roof is big. You’d think that would weaken the structure but still they get 5 stars from it.

Personally I like Pugs. My 406 V6 is still looking after me 10 years down the track. Leather, cruise, V6, modern styling, rain sensitive wipers, climate control, multi link rear suspension, rear sun blind for my son, power memory seats and a couple of airbags. You’d have trouble finding that in a lot of new cars these days.

Hot hatch it is not! It will be a nice car all the same and probably very economical and moderately rapid. The Golf GT range goes for the similar money and they offer a diesel though.

Hmmm…..very curious this new breed of pseudo hot hatches.

It’s a shame Peugeot have forgotten how to design an attractive car.

  • Reckless1

1.6 litre Turbo for the same money as 2.0 litre Turbo from VW.

You’d have to be a keen French car lover to be sucked in by this.

They’ve kind of lost a bit since the 306 in some ways. :(

  • SteveC

Yeah Liam, I owned and loved a 306 for 5 years. Sadly had to sell it (cries into beer). havent been the same since, I must admit i like the 308 though.
